Something About Us
Mother and daughter team Nan and Lucinda Langhorne, run their family business
Eaton Thorne Stables
with the aim of making riding
FUN, SAFE and AFFORDABLE.
Since riding as a child, Nan has been involved with horses all her life helping three of her four children compete successfully at national level.
Lucinda, who is BHS AI registered and manages the stables, is the only one who continued to pursue equestrianism as her career.
Her key achievements began when she was placed at the National Junior Three Day Event Championship and subsequently asked to represent the country on the Rural Riders Squad.
She has won classes at Hickstead International Dressage with homebred Joey. Ayida (who was a thrown out racehorse) has won more than we invested in her and made her Hickstead Show Jumping debut last year. Dawsett now continues to event.
Fortunately, Lucinda has been privileged to train and work with Jabeena Maslin (who had an Olympic trial) Vicki Thompson (Olympic Dressage Rider) and John Smart (International Show Jumper) who kept his horses at Eaton Thorne for several years.

15 years ago Eaton Thorne started with just three stables and a trailer. Now there are 17 stables and a 6 horse lorry that accommodate the increasing number of parents who find riding affordable and obtainable for their children, when done the Eaton Thorne way.
Several children, who started riding at Eaton Thorne once a week as 5 year olds, today enjoy owning, loaning or sharing ponies and horses.
