LESSONS
Hourly lessons can take place after school, during the holidays and half term. Additional activities are arranged so that more hands on experience can be gained.
All lessons begin with children assisting in preparing their ponies to ride. This includes taking off rugs and head collars, putting on saddle and bridle, then after riding untack and re-rug. By doing
this, it helps the children build confidence and trust which is so vital when riding. In addition, they develop an appreciation that there is more to riding than just sitting on top of a pony.
Throughout our teaching the emphasis is always on effectiveness, FUN and SAFETY!
FUN & ENJOYMENT
Younger children enjoy pony-based games included in their lessons, which are designed to build trust, confidence, balance, ability, and enthusiasm.
More formal lessons are available for the older children where more concentration is given to the technicalities of riding.
There is also much pleasure to be had from going out riding across the Downs on some of our ponies who have no wish to compete.
